LG Goes OLED

Did you finally get yourself that perfect LCD TV that has all the great specs anyone would want? Did you finally ditch the plasma screen you bought in the early days of flat-screen televisions? Pity. You'll have to start looking forward to the new kind of TVs, as announced by LG: 55" OLED TVs. With a terribly hight contrast ratio of more than 100000:1, a thickness of only 5 mm and pixels that each light up individually, the Olympics of 2012 will look better than ever (and so will your living room... remember the first days of flat-screen-tvs where people started using the analogy of a painting for describing the new kind of TVs? It is now finally legitimate to describe it that way!).

The only thing that might hold you back from purchasing one immediately the day they come available, might be the pricetag. Fo now we do not know what the price of the new screens will be, but we suspect that you might want to enjoy your freshly bought LCD TV a little longer. (also, 55" is a little large, so you might need some time to rearrange the livingroom.)
